The sulfur workers of Mina La Casualidad were thrown out of their village by the military government over 40 years ago when the mine was closed. Every year, they go back in hopes that it becomes a heritage site. Even if they don’t live there, it’s theirs now more than ever, as they’re those who remember; who were happy; who left their childhoods and their dead behind there.
