Focusing on the assassination of more than 1500 environmentalists and land defenders in Latin America since 2012, Green is the New Red looks for the roots of this violence by analysing Operation Condor. This “multinational of repression”, that led to the physical elimination of tens of thousands of subversives throughout the 1970s, also signified impunity and land grabbing, laying the foundations for today’s Soya Republic, the cradle of the global agribusiness. An intimate journey through the limbo separating history and present: both personal and choral, it offers us a character-driven pathway leading to a genealogy of our present ecological disaster by presenting groundbreaking historical and political contextualization.
