The Human Rights Multimedia Institute of Argentina (IMD) is launching the first regional lab dedicated to promoting socially engaged film projects addressing environmental and human rights issues.
Unlike other audiovisual hubs, SEMILLAS_LAB proposes a cross-sectional approach that encompasses impact strategies, outreach campaigns, and sustainable production models. Concurrently, it helps connect projects with funding networks, distribution channels, festivals, and international funds.
Program Details
In-Person Workshop — Buenos Aires - August 12 - 19, 2026
- 5-day intensive training as part of the International Environmental Film Festival (FINCA), with individual per-project morning sessions (script, fiction, point of view, aesthetic proposal) and evening group workshops (marketing, outreach and impact, sustainability, pitching).
- In the evening, they will take part in the Festival’s activities: screenings, talks, and networking instances.
Public Pitching Session and Award Ceremony - August 19, 2026
- The 9 projects will pitch to a jury of industry leaders.
- The Awards will be announced during the FINCA’s Closing Ceremony.
