Amaranth, a native plant to the Americas, has survived thanks to the indigenous peoples despite Spanish colonizers’ prohibition. Today, it is the most widespread glyphosate-resistant weed, covering over 25 million hectares of GM crop fields. The video essay explores the intelligence and political agency of Amaranth, though fieldwork based on coexistence and close observation of this vegetal’s behavior.
