The crisis our planet faces reveals itself in multiple ways. Today, it becomes tangible as a pandemic paralyzing the world, yet another sign of the destruction and oppression human beings inflict on Earth. We have come to understand our health and the planet’s are indivisible and there is only one possible way: a system change is urgent and unavoidable. Given these circumstances, we meet to dialogue with different environmental activists to try to find a definite, possible way out that includes each one of us.

Bruno Rodríguez / Marou Rivero / Activism and the youth
Bruno Rodriguez is a militant social ecologist at Jóvenes por el Clima (JOCA). He was the author of the climate and ecological emergency project passed on the Argentine Senate on July 17, 2019 and he represented Argentina at the United Nations Youth Climate Summit (New York). He is currently working on the political construction of Jóvenes por el Clima in the whole country as a grassroots and Latinoamericanist organization.
Marou Rivero is a sociologist, a communications specialist and a cultural influencer at @marourivero (ig). She defines herself as a participant observer. She is an entrepreneur, a feminist, a cinephile and a fashion lover. She fosters sustainable changes in the fashion industry through #lamodacomomedio.

Máximo Mazzocco / Mercedes Fino / Environmental education
Máximo Mazzocco is the founder and President of Eco House, one of the socio-environmental organizations with the most volunteers in Argentina ecohouse.org.ar, and co-founder of Alianza x el Clima Argentina alianzaxelclima.org. Recently, he was recognized by the Buenos Aires Legislature as prominent personality of the City of Buenos Aires and selected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Buenos Aires by the Junior Chamber International.
Mercedes Fino is an artist and a teacher with a degree in Political Sciences. Her main fields of work and activism are environment and ecofeminism. She writes about political ecology in Florestanía and she is a part of RENAMA and the COAF.
TUESDAY, JUNE 23 – 7 p.m.
Flavia Broffoni / Laura Borsellino / La rebelión
Flavia Broffoni is a political scientist and an environmental activist specialized on international relations and regenerative development. She is the co-founder of Rebelión o Extinción Argentina and a professor in Political Ecology. She was a speaker at TEDx Río de la Plata.
Laura Borsellino has a degree in Communication Studies and specialist in Biodiversity Conservation (UBA). As an environmental journalist, she writes about political ecology and biodiversity in Florestanía and La Nación. She is a photographer, a cinephile, an amateur ornithologist, an animal lover and a passionate advocate of public space. She defines ecofeminism as reflection and practices to guide her path in all of these worlds.
